Massage Therapy Training Requirements

Our program prepares students for licensure in Massage Therapy in Iowa. It is typically completed in 9 months with 20 hours of class time per week.

Teacher Training Program

Having Qualified trained teachers is an important things for cosmetology Schools. We believe that students benefit from teachers who are excited to help other professionals grow, and we want to help cosmetologist give back to the next generation.

Cosmetology graduates from a Nationally Accredited College may enroll and take the Teachers training course if Qualified. This graduate level course runs for approx. 33 weeks. Interested graduates or students will interview and go thru an evaluation of credentials to determine eligibility.

With enrollment in all of our programs, we offer convenient on-campus dorms, providing a comfortable and supportive living environment for students to focus on their education.

Teacher Training Diploma (30 weeks – 1000 Hours)

Boards and Licensing: A student must compete 1000 hours of training in the Teacher Training Program. LaJames College requires a minimum of 80% in grade evaluations in order to pass. A diploma is given at completion of the course.

Upon completion of the course, the student will be eligible to sit for the state examination. Upon Successful completion of the exam the graduate will be a licensed cosmetology instructor. Career opportunities include all the opportunities that the cosmetologist had along with teaching in a college.

--- The upon completion of the 1,000 hour program, demonstration of the technical ability to conduct class, prepare lesson plans, and have the ability to engage students in a learning environment. Graduates will have the ability to apply for and take the state of Iowa teacher’s Licensing exam.
